Rocker Andrew W.K. will host a six-part, kid-friendly educational series on Maker.TV, part of Disney’s digital media unit Maker Studios, premiering Oct. 4. The series, called Meet Me At the Reck, will feature appearances from a wide array of notables including YouTube star Stampylonghead (Joseph Garrett), Jack Black, Zach Woods (Silicon Valley) and others from online and traditional media, music, extreme sports, even NASA JPL scientist Michael Meacham.
The show follows Andrew W.K. and a band of kids, called “reckers,” who live in the increasingly hipster L.A. neighborhood of Echo Park as they “celebrate the importance of using your imagination.” The six episodes, each between 5 and 7 minutes, will premier on Maker.TV’s kids channel Cartoonium.
Despite his “king of partiers” reputation, Andrew W.K. is no stranger to cameras, or kids programming, appearing previously in shows on MTV and more recently Cartoon Network‘s Destroy Build Destroy. He’s also pursued many other ventures, including as a music producer, author, motivational speaker and syndicated advice columnist.

Brian Williams, NBC Nightly News Pass A Facebook Landmark
It’s not like bagging a huge interview with, say, Vladimir Putin on the future of eastern Ukraine, but NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams took a little time today to brag about passing 1 million “likes” on Facebook.
Given that Deadline is sitting on the precipice of a mere 150,000 Facebook likes (and thank you to all our fans for that), we can hardly do anything beyond letting Williams note the landmark with a brief “special message,” as the company’s release put it. It features a few Nightly News milestones on Facebook, like which posts were the most liked, shared and commented upon. Also, Williams promises a Facebook equivalent of the Reddit Ask Me Anything question-and-answer session. That should be most interesting.
Fox Sports To Live-Stream NFL Games, But Not Everywhere
The deal will make 97 regular-season NFL games and four NFC playoff matches available on Fox Sports Go, the net’s live-streaming app, if the user already is a subscriber with a participating pay-TV provider. Such provisions are pretty typical, if deeply frustrating for hard-core fans wanting to see games on whatever device they have at hand, not just a subset of them.
Fox Sports Go also will feature the network’s FOX NFL SUNDAY pre-game show, beginning at noon Eastern time. In an interesting side note, the network said the Fox Sports Go live stream of last February’s Super Bowl attracted an average audience of 528,000 viewers per minute, a record for a single U.S. sports event.
‘Video Game High School’ final-season trailer debuts
The online series released a trailer for its six-part season 3, the show’s last. VGHS and its various stars and creators received more nominations for this week’s Streamy Awards than any other online video program. The YouTube show follows the lives of teen videogame players at a fictional academy for the best players. Cameos this year include one from Conan O’Brien.
The series has been massively successful with YouTube audiences, drawing more than 84 million views so far. The show is produced by Rocket Jump Studios and Collective Digital Studio, and was created by Freddie Wong and Matt Arnold. Here’s the trailer for Season 3, which debuts Oct. 13:
