Thruline Entertainment has added longtime talent manager Marc Hamou to its partner ranks. Hamou joined Thruline in 2005 when William Mercer’s Rozon-Mercer, where Hamou was a partner, merged with Thruline, and Mercer became a Thruline partner alongside the company’s founders J.B. Roberts and Ron West and Chris Henze. Last year, Thruline named another company veteran, Steve Kavovit, a partner, with Hamou’s promotion bringing the number of partners to six.
Hamou’s focus has been discovering and developing Canadian talent. His client list includes Emily VanCamp (Revenge, Captain America: Civil War), Jay Baruchel (Man Seeking Woman, This Is The End), Rex Lee (Entourage), Lawrence Gilliard Jr. (The Walking Dead, The Wire), Marc-Andre Grondin (C.R.A.Z.Y.), Robin Weigert (Deadwood, Sons Of Anarchy), Ellen Wong (The Carrie Diaries), Evelyne Brochu (Orphan Black), Keir Gilchrist (Stanford Prison Experiment) and Giacomo Gianniotti (Selfie, Grey’s Anatomy).
“Marc is a passionate advocate for his clients,” Mercer said. “He takes a long-term view on career management. And he operates with as much integrity as anyone in our business.”
In other Thruline personnel news, Christina Karakasidis has been promoted to manager. She started at the company in 2009 as an assistant and most recently served as a talent coordinator. Her client list includes Valorie Curry (The Following), Annabeth Gish (Sons Of Anarchy), Christian Serratos (The Walking Dead), Scott Haze (Child Of God), Laz Alonso (Mysteries Of Laura), Gianniotti and James A. Woods, currently co-writing Roland Emmerich’s sequel to Independence Day as well as two other projects for Emmerich.
Founded in 2003, Thruline has a roster of clients that includes actors Allison Janney, Michael Cera, John Hawkes, Mackenzie Davis, Sarah Silverman, Ron Livingston and Eric Stonestreet, and writers Scott Gimple (showrunner of Walking Dead), Annie Mumolo (Bridesmaids), John Rogers (Leverage, The Player) and Steve Franks (Psych, Rush Hour). The company also has a production arm, Tagline Pictures.
