Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency alum Fiona Dourif is set for a recurring role in upcoming series The Purge for USA Network and Syfy.

The project comes from franchise creator James DeMonaco, indie studio Blumhouse Television and Universal Cable Productions. The franchise — about one day each year when murder and mayhem is legalized — hatched its highest grossing effort so far with the most recent The Purge: Election Year in 2016. DeMonaco oversees the series which will be an entirely new chapter in America’s 12 hours of annual lawlessness and is slated to launch in conjunction with the next installment in the movie franchise.

Dourif will play the cool and offbeat, Good Leader Tavis, the much-adored, charismatic cult leader, dispensing blessings to her fawning followers.

She joins a cast that includes series regulars Gabriel Chavarria, Lili Simmons, Jessica Garza, Amanda Warren, Colin Woodell, Hannah Anderson and Lee Tergesen, and William Baldwin who will recur.

Dourif was a series regular in BBC America/AMC’s Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency and had a leading role in Gus Van Sant’s ABC miniseries When We Rise. She currently recurs on NBC’s The Blacklist and recurred on Shameless earlier this year. She also recurred on WGN drama Manhattan, among others. Dourif also starred in the latest installments of the classic Chucky horror franchise, Cult of Chucky and Curse of Chucky. She’s repped by Innovative Artists.
