Nine months after Principato-Young Entertainment co-founder Paul Young exited as Electus bought a majority stake in the management and production company, PYE is rebranding itself as Artists First.

The other PYE founding partner, Peter Principato, will remain as president and CEO of Artists First, which  has 21 managers with offices in Los Angeles, New York and Chicago..

“On behalf of my partners at Artists First, I am excited to announce this name change, which is reflective of the evolution of our organization,” Principato said. “We are strongly dedicated to building our clients’ careers focusing on their creative endeavors, businesses and production entities in order for them to achieve their highest artistic goals. Additionally, we will continue to strive to identify, develop and produce high-quality productions that we believe in.”

Among those productions are the current series Black-ish, Grown-ish, The Last O.G., The Gong Show and Hot Date. 

Artists First’s clients include Jordan Peele; F Gary Gray, Ed Helms, Kate McKinnon, Tiffany Haddish, Jon M. Chu, Niecy Nash, Michael Showalter, Regina Hall, Will Arnett, John Travolta, Ike Barinholtz, Thomas Lennon & Robert Ben Garant, Randall Park, Abominable Pictures, Kids at Play and the Black-ish trio of Kenya Barris, Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross.
