FremantleMedia North America is bolstering its unscripted team with one exec promotion and a pair of new hires. The company said today that it has upped Joni Day to SVP Alternative Programming & Development and brought Colin Nash as SVP Alternative Programming & Development and Jean Shi as VP Alternative Programming & Development.
“With Colin and Jean joining the team, along with Joni’s expanding role, we have assembled an all-star team,” said Jayson Dinsmore, President of Alternative Programming & Development at FMNA. “Each of these individuals comes with a diverse background and brings a unique skill set to the table that complements our goal of creating entertaining and compelling content for every platform.”

In her new role, she will focus on finding further global formats for broadcast. Her credits include new kids game show The Noise, game show reboot Beat the Clock, The Great Christmas Light Fight, Match Game and To Tell the Truth.

While there he oversaw franchises including True Life, The Real World and The Challenge and also worked on such series as Unlocking the Truth, Buckwild, The Hills and Laguna Beach.
At FMNA, Shi will be responsible for developing and selling original unscripted series, with a focus on global formats for cable and attracting talent. She most recently served as SVP Development at Invent Media and before that spent three years in the NBCUniversal group at Oxygen Media where she shepherded such series as Pretty.Strong., Douglas Family Gold, Strut and Battle of the Ex-Besties.
