Fox’s Empire (1.6, 5.01M) was Wednesday’s top show in the 18-49 age bracket, and CBS’ Survivor (1.5, 7.62M) won the night in total viewers.

At 8 PM, both one-hour shows bested NBC’s The Blacklist (0.7, 4.9M), ABC’s The Goldbergs (1.2, 4.75M) and Alex, Inc. (0.7, 3.04M) and the CW’s Riverdale (0.4, 1.01M) in the first hour of primetime.

Similarly, CBS’ SEAL Team topped total viewers at 9 PM, while ABC’s Modern Family (1.3, 4.68M) and Fox’s Star (1.2, 3.82M) — which got a Season 3 renewal this morning — tied for top spot in demo at 9 PM half hour. Star shared the demo win with freshly renewed NBC’s Law & Order: SVU (1.1, 5.69M) at 9:30, besting ABC’s American Housewife (1.1, 4.10M), though that comedy series recovered from previous week’s series low with a 2/10th demo rise.

NBC’s Chicago P.D. celebrated its renewal dominating the 10 PM hour in its season finale (1.2, 6.29M), by 71% in the demo and 1.3 million viewers.
