Considering it is April Fools’ Day, don’t fall for all the news that’s flowing through your social media feeds. The latest bit of “fooled ya!” news comes from Shazamhelmer David F. Sandberg.

The director took to Twitter and posted what seemed like a teaser trailer for Warner Bros’ upcoming adaptation of the DC superhero Shazam! starring Zachary Levi. At first, the WB & DC logos and the voiceover make it all seem legit. However, after 25 seconds, it cuts to retro footage of the Shazam! TV series from the ’70s set to AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck.”  You have to admit, Sandberg punking us with this fake teaser trailer is funny even though you can feel the excitement of fanboys and fangirls deflating with groans and disappointment

This is just one of today’s special April Fools’ posts of the day. Earlier, Hamilton superstar Lin-Manuel Miranda announced that Broadway will soon see his version of Tommy Wiseau’s film The Room while Netflix revealed that they have acquired Seth Rogen’s personal autonomy. All of these are obviously jokes — at least that’s what we think.
