ABC Owned Television Stations Group has promoted Jennifer Mitchell to the newly created position of SVP Content Development, from her current role as VP Digital Content. Mitchell will be responsible for creating, leading and executing multi-platform content vision and strategies across the ABC Owned Television Stations Group’s eight local brands and businesses, reporting to Wendy McMahon, president, ABC Owned Television Stations Group.

“Jennifer has a wealth of expertise creating and publishing content that enriches the overall audience experience while generating revenue growth,” said McMahon. “She’s consistently done an extraordinary job, using all available and emerging capabilities, to optimize our eight local brands and businesses across platforms. I know that in this new role she will apply those same great skills and play an integral part in propelling OTV to new heights.”

With the station group for nearly 19 years, Mitchell most recently served as vice president, Digital Content, responsible for developing and leading the audience-focused digital content strategy for the eight owned stations. She led a team of content creators in New York and Los Angeles who support the eight local brands with topical, editorial content as well as breaking news and weather coverage. She also was responsible for the ABC Daytime social channels and worked closely with the production teams at The Chew and General Hospital.

Previously, Mitchell was Director of Digital Operations at KGO-TV, the ABC owned television station in San Francisco.
