Sophia Di Martino (Flowers) and Kirby Howell-Baptiste (Downward Dog) are set as the leads in Girls Code (working title), a half-hour women-in-the-workplace comedy from playwright/New Girl writer-producer Kim Rosenstock, Freaks and Geeks creator and Ghostbusters helmer Paul Feig, Paramount Television and Anonymous Content.

Written by Rosenstock with Feig directing, the pilot follows the odd couple partnership between two former MIT lab partners – Wendy (Di Martino), a brazen, self-centered tech CEO and Angela (Howell-Baptiste), a community-building social entrepreneur – who must try to overcome their many issues and unfavorable history with each other in order to run a groundbreaking, all-female tech incubator.

DiMartino’s Wendy is a wunderkind robotics engineer and CEO of Lighthouse Industries. While charismatic, successful, confident and seemingly unstoppable, a PR disaster and catastrophic malfunction forces her to step back and figure out what to do next. Howell-Baptiste’s Angela is an equally brilliant professor of engineer who chose to pursue the non-profit side of coding by creating an incubator for up-and-coming female tech entrepreneurs, overseeing a workplace of genius women, young and old, who are on a mission to change the world.

Also joining the cast are Hayley Magnus (The Dressmaker) as Wendy’s upbeat, ambitious and hyper-competent assistant Johanna, Andy Buckley (The Office) as Wendy’s mentor who often fills a paternal role for her, and Rene Gube (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend) as the burnt-out but hardworking Chief Operating Officer of Lighthouse Industries.

Rosenstock also serves as executive producer alongside Feig and Jessie Henderson for Feigco Entertainment. Joy Gorman Wettels (13 Reasons Why), who brought the original idea to Feigco and Rosenstock, and Steve Golin serve as executive producers on behalf of Anonymous Content. Feigco’s Dan Magnante will serve as co-producer.

Di Martino next appears on Into the Badlands for AMC and recurs on Flowers for Amazon/Channel 4. She is repped by UK based Hamilton-Hodell, Inphenate and attorneys at Hansen, Jacobson.

Magnus starred as Simone on the Australian series, The Wrong Girl and next appears in Awesomeness Films’ Action #1. She is repped by MGMT. Entertainment, APA, and Morrissey Management.

Buckley is known for his role as David Wallace on The Office and recently guest-starred on Will & Grace and 9-1-1. He’s repped by Pakula King & Associates and Coronel Group.
