In Las Vegas, the odds were on the Philadelphia Eagles to come out on top on last night’s Sunday Night Football, but someone forgot to tell the Seattle Seahawks.

In a game preceded by several Seattle players sitting or kneeling during the national anthem, the Seahawks proceeded to clip the division-leading Eagles’ wings with a 24-10 victory. Led by all-engines-firing QB Russell Wilson last night at home and the Eagles not challenging a certain questionable forward pass, the Super Bowl XLVIII champs are now 8-4 for the current season and looking good heading into the playoffs in the next few weeks.

On a weekend of NFL games peppered with player protests, the ratings didn’t suffer as the nationally known Eagles and Seahawks battled it out: In metered market results, last night’s SNF scored a 13.1/22, a 7% rise over the MM ratings for the Pittsburgh Steelers’ 31-28 win over the Green Bay Packers on November 26. Steady with the previous week in the early numbers, that SNF went on to deliver a 6.0/20 among adults 18-49 and 18.95 million viewers.

Week 13 2017 versus Week 13 2016, last night’s SNF jumped 14% in metered market ratings over the Seahawks’ 40-7 blowout of the Carolina Panthers back on December 4, 2016. Also steady with its own previous airing in MM numbers, that Week 13 SNF matchup went on to snag a 6.1/19 key demo rating and a total audience of 17.75 million, where were down a tenth in 18-49 from the Week 12 2016 ratings.

Of course, the Seahawks and the Eagles wasn’t the only big battle on the small screen last night. CBS’ The Carol Burnett 50th Anniversary Special (1.5/5) went face-to-face and laugh-to-laugh with an NFL inflated The Simpsons (1.7/5) for top entertainment show of the night – and clearly a bit of football pumped up animation won out.

However, with its pretty healthy demo result, the celebration of the comedy icon and trailblazer came second in another aspect that is likely making CBS strut around with a smile on its Big 4 face.

Drawing 15.2 million viewers in the fast affiliates, and with just over three weeks to go in the year, the 8 – 10 PM Carol Burnett special is clocking in at the most watched non-sports special since the 32.9 million who tuned in for the 89th Academy Awards on February 26, 2017.

Coming off NFL Overruns and The OT, The Simpsons was down two tenths from its last football bounce but up 55% over its last original of November 19. Ghosted (1.0/4), Family Guy (1.1/4) and The Last Man on Earth (0.8/3) were up two tenths for the first two and a tenth for the Will Forte show over two weeks ago.

It’ll adjust later, but right now SNF (5.2/18) is up a tenth from the fast nationals of November 26 in the key demo.

There was no NFL on ABC last night but a new America’s Funniest Home Videos (1.0/4) and Shark Tank (0.9/3) were stumbled 17% and 10% from their November 26 shows.

And to wrap things up, here’s couple of stats that NBC and the NFL might enjoy: firstly, the Comcast-owned net won the night with a 4.5/16 and 14.16 million viewers overall. Secondly, last night’s SNF peaked in the 10-10:30 AM slot with a 14.0/23 MM result – that’s up 9% over the peak of last week’s SNF.
