Jordan Peele’s Get Out has been named best picture of the year by The Boston Online Film Critics Association. Paul Thomas Anderson took the best director award for his Phantom Thread.

BOFCA, established in 2012, consists of web-based film critics. A spokesman says this year’s best-of list honors films “running the gamut from the socially-conscious horror movie Get Out to dark science-fiction meditations like Blade Runner 2049 and The Shape of Water to emotionally-searing dramas like The Florida Project and Call Me By Your Name.”
