The CW has released key art (see below) for its upcoming DC drama series Black Lightning, from Salim Akil, Mara Brock Akil and Greg Berlanti.

Based on the DC character created by Tony Isabella with Trevor Von Eeden, Black Lightning centers on Jefferson Pierce (Cress Williams), now a father of two daughters and principal of a charter high school, a hero in his community. Nine years ago he was a hero of a different sort, gifted with superhuman powers as the masked vigilante Black Lightning. Seeing the effects of the damage and loss that his alter ego was inflicting on his family, he left his Superhero days behind. But now with crime and corruption spreading like wildfire, and those he cares about in the crosshairs of a menacing local gang, Black Lightning returns – to save not only his family, but also the soul of his community.

Pictured in the key art below from left to right are Nafessa Williams as Anissa Pierce, Cress Williams as Black Lightning and China Anne McClain as Jennifer Pierce.
