UPDATED with video: Stephen Colbert returned from break, telling viewers he’s now “one of the few men still allowed on television before weighing in on Wednesday’s sacking of Today show host Matt Lauer over allegations of sexual misconduct.

Today show co-anchor Savannah Guthrie got to announce the news on the program, after which reports began to surface of the details. “And they’re not great,” Colbert said. Among the allegations, Lauer is said to have summoned a female staffer to his office and showed her his penis, leaving her visibly shaken.

“I’m going to say what that woman honestly could not at the moment: ‘What a dick!’, Colbert described.

President Donald Trump weighed in on Lauer’s firing, tweeting “Wow.”

“Wait a minute!” Colbert said. “I’m still not used to a President typing in the words ‘Wow’. That’s’ like if the first draft of the Gettysburg Address was ‘Holy guacamole! This war sucks!”

Colbert continues reading Trump’s tweet, in which he blasts NBC for “Fake News.”

“By ‘fake news’ do you mean ‘more than a dozen women have accused Trump of improper conduct or sexual assault’?” Colbert asked Trump, rhetorically, reading from a press report.

“Listen up! You don’t get to comment!” Colbert told Trump. “That is the pot calling the kettle at 3 AM and asking what she is wearing.”

Citing the New York Times, Colbert told viewers that, in private, Trump has told people it may not have been him on that Access Hollywood tape for which he has apologized, in which he said he was so famous he could grab women “by the p*ssy” with impunity.

“We don’t think that was my voice,” Trump has told people privately, NYT reports.

“Quick tip – if you are going to say something that’s really crazy, don’t refer to yourself as ‘we’,” Colbert advised.
