Bradley Whitford, Toby Kebbell, and Scoot McNairy have joined the cast of Karyn Kusama’s crime thriller Destroyer, toplined by Nicole Kidman and co-starring previously announced Tatiana Maslany and Sebastian Stan. Shooting is slated to commence next week in Los Angeles. The script is by Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi.

It follows the moral and existential odyssey of LAPD detective Erin Bell who, as a young cop, was placed undercover with a gang in the California desert with tragic results. When the leader of that gang re-emerges many years later, she must work her way back through the remaining members and into her own history with them to finally reckon with the demons that destroyed her past.

Hay and Manfredi will produce the film with Automatik Entertainment’s Fred Berger. 30WEST is fully financing the project.

Rocket Science is handling international sales, while ICM and CAA are repping the North American rights.

Whitford co-stars in two Oscar contenders for this year: Jordan Peele’s box office sleeper hit, Get Out, and the upcoming Steven Spielberg film, The Post, starring Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep.

Kebbell was most recently seen reprising his role as Koba in War for the Planet of the Apes for Fox and in Legendary/Warner Bros’ Kong: Skull Island playing both a live-action helicopter ace Jack Chapman as well as the title role.

McNairy currently stars in the Netflix series Godless and his latest film credits include Netflix’s War Machine, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and the Oscar-winning 12 Years A Slave.

Whitford is repped by ICM as well as Greenlight Management and Production. Kebbell is repped by CAA and Independent Talent Group. McNairy is repped by WME and The Group Management.
