In Working Title Television’s first development season since Andrew Stearn joined as president, the company — a joint venture with NBCU International Studios, which is overseen by Michael Edelstein, and Working Title Films’ Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner — has set up three broadcast drama series projects: an adaptation of James Renner’s book The Man From Primrose Lane at Fox with feature director-producer Alexandre Aja (The Hills Have Eyes); the Bermuda triangle-themed Triangle at NBC; and dance drama DTLA at ABC, penned by Valley Girl co-writer Amy Talkington. Stearn, Bevan and Fellner are executive producing all three with Working Title president of U.S. production Liza Chasin.

“I’m thrilled in my first broadcast development season with Working Title Television to have set up projects which bring the same quality that Eric, Tim, Liza and the entire WT team have brought to  their feature films over the years,” Stearn said. “Working closely with the team there and at NBCUniversal International Studios, I am confident we have developed a strong scripted slate of content for 2017/18.”

The Man From Primrose Lane, which has a script commitment plus penalty at Fox, is a co-production with 20th TV. It is being adapted for TV by the book’s author, James Renner, who penned a spec script.

In West Akron, Ohio, an elderly man from Primrose Lane was murdered. Fast-forward four years to David Neff, the bestselling author of a true-crime book about an Ohio serial killer, who decides to investigate. The closer he gets to uncovering the man’s true identity, the more he begins to understand the reality-altering power of his own obsessions — and how they may be connected to the deaths of the old hermit and David’s beloved wife.

Renner executive produces with Aja and Christine Conley.

ABC’s DTLA, a co-production with ABC Studios, is set against the backdrop of up and coming Downtown Los Angeles. It centers on a celebrity choreographer who must fight to protect her status, family, business and secrets while she grooms a vulnerable young protege who will put her back on top. Talkington, co-writer of the upcoming Valley Girl feature remake, is writing/executive producing, while Richard Arlook (I Smile Back) is co-executive producing.

At NBCU International, the projects are overseen by JoAnn Alfano and Scott Herbst.

Working Title TV, along with Universal TV, is in production on Gypsy, a drama series for Netflix starring Naomi Watts and Billy Crudup. It is being overseen by Chasin.

In addition to Triangle, Busick and Murphy also have a horror project with IM Global TV. They are repped by Luber Roklin, 3 Arts, Paradigm and Jackoway, Tyerman. Following her stint on The Good Wife, Kennedy was recently tapped as executive producer/director on the sequel series The Good Fight where she is directing the opening episode.
