A24 has sealed a slew of sales on awards-season favorite Moonlight which will see it released internationally in the early part of 2017. The Barry Jenkins-directed drama has grossed almost $10M at the domestic box office and stars Mahershala Ali and Naomie Harris.

This is A24’s first fully-financed project and has been adding prizes at a clip in the past few weeks. Among its wins are four Los Angeles Film Critics Association Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director; four Gotham Awards, including Best Feature; and the Best International Film nod at the British Independent Film Awards.

Distributors having acquired the story that chronicles a young black man from childhood to adulthood as he struggles to find his place in the world include Mars (France), Altitude (UK), Roadshow (Australia/NZ), DCM (Germany), Sun (Latin America/Spain), Phantom (Japan), Lucky Red (Italy), Splendid (Benelux), Selmer Media (Scandinavia), Times Media (South Africa), Filmware (Taiwan), Seven Film (Greece), Shani (Israel) and Fabula (Turkey).

A24 recently expanded its own international distribution with the release of Swiss Army Man in the UK.
