EXCLUSIVE: Luke Hemsworth, who ended the first season of Westworld captured by a hostile tribe, is staying in Western mode. He’s next starring as Wild Bill Hickok in Abilene, the Timothy Woodward Jr-directed film that was scripted by Michael Lanahan and also stars Trace Adkins, Kris Kristofferson, Bruce Dern and Cameron Richardson. The indie is being produced by Chris Nicoletti and Henry Penzi. Production has just gotten underway.

A rough-around-the edges gunslinger and lawman with a reputation as the fastest draw in the West, Wild Bill goes to Abilene looking for an old flame and gets roped into being Marshal in an outlaw time.

Hemsworth is expected to return for the second season of the HBO series. He’s repped by Morrissey Management and ROAR.
