The film is a biopic on quadriplegic cartoonist John Callahan, which Iconoclast and Anonymous Content are producing based on an autobiography of the late artist who was paralyzed in a car accident at age 21 and turned to drawing as a form of therapy. For decades Callahan’s work raised eyebrows for its taboo topics leading to numerous boycotts in his hometown of Portland.
Hill will next star in The Ballad of Richard Jewell and he’s also set to star in the Cary Fukunaga-directed series Maniac with Emma Stone. Hill makes his directing debut on Mid ’90s, a coming-of-age film that he also wrote.
