EXCLUSIVE: Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson has just been cast in Diamond Film Productions’ upcoming crime thriller Den of Thieves which is being domestically distributed by STX and directed by Christian Gudegast from an original screenplay that he co-wrote with Paul Sheuring. The project, which has also long starred Gerard Butler, is being produced by Tucker Tooley and Mark Canton as well as Butler and Alan Siegel from G-BASE, Butler’s production company. It has been described as “a Los Angeles crime saga in the vein of Heat and is scheduled to begin production in Atlanta, Georgia on Jan. 30th.
Den of Thieves follows the intersecting and often personally connected lives of an elite unit of the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department and the state’s most successful bank robbery crew as they plan a seemingly impossible heist on the Federal Reserve Bank of downtown Los Angeles. Jackson, whose film credits include Spy and Southpaw, will play the character Enson, who is part of the gang of what will be an ensemble cast of characters. Butler plays a corrupt cop named ‘Big Nick’ Flanagan.
Glenn Feig is an executive producer from Diamond Film Productions. Scott Lumpkin and Jamie Marshall are also exec producers.
’50 Cent’ (Jackson) is a Grammy Award winner who has sold more than 30 million albums worldwide and has one heck of a fan following. Jackson also serves as executive producer and stars in Starz series Power. In August of this year, Starz extended Jackson & G-Unit Film & Television, Inc.’s exclusive overall deal into 2018 to develop new projects for the network and continue as executive producer on Power (along with the development announcement of his series Tomorrow Today based on a screenplay penned by Jackson).
He is repped by APA and attorneys Eric Feig and Stephen J. Savva. Butler is repped by CAA and Alan Siegel Entertainment.

“a Los Angeles crime saga in the vein of Heat… and is scheduled to begin production in Atlanta, Georgia on January 9.” Enough said.
Better give 50 Cent gets an academy award or he’ll have his character killed off in Den of Thieves 2 as protest.
I find it hilarious you actually believed what he said on social media. That was purely marketing he already knew Powee wouldn’t get nominated lol

I think the reason gerard butler’s career turned out to be basically a one hit wonder is because he was so unrecognizable in 300, that when he started doing leads in movie everyone was like “who the heck is that? plus he’s kinda goofy with a slight lisp. As oppose to say Russell Crowe who everyone clearly recognized after his major hit Gladiator.
One hit wonder? Have you seen his other movies then? They are talked about from many. No one hit wonder.
