For each of the past five years Kimmel’s ABC late-night show has asked parents to pretend they ate all their kids’ Halloween candy and post video of the reax to YouTube. This year brought more submissions than ever.
There’s the usual array of crying, hitting, telling parents how much they hate them, and even an expletive or two being hurled by the precocious moppets as their parents document in hopes their parenting results make the cut. Fortunately it’s offset by the adorable child who tells their parent they forgive them; one child helpfully suggests it could all be made right if they go out and buy some more.
But the most savvy of this year’s bunch, a kid who hasn’t born yesterday, blithely responds: “It’s Jimmy Kimmel. I’ve seen it before. Watch YouTube.”
