Momentum Pictures has acquired North American rights to Voice From the Stone, a drama starring Game of ThronesEmilia Clarke based on the Italian novel by Silvio Raffo. Marton Csokas, Caterina Murino, Remo Girone, Lisa Gastoni and Edward Dring co-star in the pic, which is eyeing a first-quarter 2017 release.

Eric D. Howell made his directorial debut on the pic, adapted by Andrew Shaw. At the gates of an isolated stone castle in 1950s Tuscany, a determined young nurse (Clarke) arrives to care for the mute heir within. As she struggles to bring silent Jakob (Edward Dring) back into the world, she finds herself submerged deeper and deeper into the hidden secrets of the castle. Marton Csokas, Caterina Murino, Lisa Gastoni and Remo Girone co-star.

Dean Zanuck (Road to Perdition) and Stefano Gallini-Durante (White Shadow) produced the pic, which was financed by Bruce Johnson, Zanuck Independent and Producer Capital Fund. 13 Films is selling international rights at AFM.

The deal was negotiated for Momentum Pictures by parent eOne’s Sejin Croninger and with CAA on behalf of the filmmakers.
