WME has signed veteran director/writer/producer Barry Levinson.

Levinson produces his films through his Baltimore Pictures banner and teams with Tom Fontana for TV series through their Levinson/Fontana Company.

Levinson, Oscar winner for directing Rain Man, also has iconic titles Bugsy, Diner and Good Morning Vietnam on his feature resume. He most recently directed the 2015 film Rock the Kasbah.

In TV, Levinson executive produces the NBC drama series Shades of Blue starring Jennifer Lopez, on which he also directed the opening two episodes. Additionally, he directed and executive produces the upcoming HBO Bernie Madoff film The Wizard of Lies, starring Robert De Niro and Michelle Pfeiffer. His previous TV series credits include HBO’s Oz and NBC’s Homicide: Life on the Street.

Levinson was most recently at ICM Partners. He is coming off a decade-and-a-half tenure at ICM and UTA, doing two stints at each agency. He will continue to be repped by attorney Hirsch Wallerstein and manager Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas.
