It’s not easy being Queen. With Great Britain reeling from the devastation of war, young Princess Elizabeth (Claire Foy) becomes Queen and finds relationships with her loved ones changing forever. In  a new trailer for The Crown, those personal complications are exposed.

What Netflix execs have called their most expensive series to date, The Crown, scripted by Peter Morgan, focuses on Queen Elizabeth II as a 25-year-old newlywed faced with the daunting prospect of leading the world’s most famous monarchy while forging a relationship with legendary Prime Minister, Sir Winston Churchill. The British Empire is in decline, the political world is in disarray, and a young woman takes the throne….a new era is dawning.  Stephen Daldry (Billy Elliot, The Hours) directs and Andy Harries (The Queen) produces.

The cast also includes Matt Smith as Prince Philip, John Lithgow as Sir Winston Churchill, Victoria Hamilton as the Queen Mother, Jared Harris as King George VI, Vanessa Kirby as Princess Margaret and Dame Eileen Atkins as Queen Mary.

All 10 episodes of The Crown premiere November 4 on Netflix.
