Paramount Pictures has named Steve Garrett and Joseph Saladino co-general sales managers in the domestic distribution department. The promotions are part of a departmental reorganization by president of distribution Kyle Davies, who joined the Melrose lot back in March. Previously, Garrett and Saladino served as SVP Domestic Distribution.

In their new posts, Garrett and Saladino will split U.S./Canada theatrical sales responsibilities, executing Paramount’s domestic slate and coordinating with theaters. Upcoming 2016 releases for Paramount include Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, Arrival, Allied, Office Christmas Party, Silence and Fences.

“I am thrilled to have Steve and Joe overseeing our talented sales team,” said Davies. “Both are respected and seasoned professionals with great relationships and a wealth of valuable knowledge in the theatrical market. I know they will guide our fantastic line-up of movies to great success.”

Garrett’s résumé in distribution and exhibition spans more than 20 years. He’s been at Paramount for 10 years, where he’s overseen the releases of such award-winning pics as Babel, There Will Be Blood and An Inconvenient Truth, as well as its commercial and art house pics. He was named SVP in 2009. Before Paramount, Garrett was at Miramax, where he was VP Western Division. He started in exhibition at Cineplex Odeon before serving as a film buyer for Loews Cineplex.

Saladino is a 38-year distrib veteran. He boarded Paramount in 2006 as SVP Distribution. Before that he worked for DreamWorks, where he distributed such pics as Best Picture Oscar winners American Beauty and Gladiator along with Saving Private Ryan, Shrek and Shrek 2. Prior to DreamWorks, he was New Line Cinema’s sales manager. Saladino began his career in the home office at Columbia Pictures, eventually taking on various sales and branch manager roles.
