Donald Trump is not going to think this is funny at all. In a new video sponsored by Save the Day, the Joss Whedon-created voter registration PAC behind the viral, star-jammed hit “Important” (below), Keegan-Michael Key plays the hippest meteorologist since George Carlin’s hippy-dippy weatherman. In the short titled, naturally enough, “Weather,” Key’s anti-Donald meteorologist predicts what will happen if Trump makes it to the White House November 8: Scattered bankruptcies, a “rise in temperatures and existential misery,” and “coming down from the northern border, we can expect giggling and smug looks.”
Whedon (The Avengers, The Avengers: Age of Ultron, Firefly, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., etc.) created Save the Day to promote voter registration, particularly among young people, and to date the PAC says it’s helped sign up more than 40,000 voters.
After Trump’s angry tweet on Sunday, in which he said Alec Baldwin’s Donald impression on Saturday Night Live “stinks,” and that the long-running comedy should call it quits, there’s no telling what he’ll think of Key’s forecast. Or, at least, when he’ll tell us.
