Jack Kesy, who is coming off a three-year stint on FX’s The Strain, is set as series regular opposite Niecy Nash in TNT’s Claws pilot, an hourlong scripted dramedy set in a Southern Florida nail salon, from Rashida Jones and Will McCormack’s Le Train Train.

Written and co-executive produced by Eliot Laurence (Welcome to Me), Claws follows the lives of five diverse and treacherous Florida manicurists. Kesy plays Roller, a gangstered-out redneck who runs a barely legal pain clinic and uses Desna’s (Niecy Nash) nail salon to launder their obscene profits. A swaggering guy who thinks he owns the world, Roller’s outrageous lifestyle just might be his downfall.

Kesy was original cast as a guest star in the pilot (here is Nash’s picture with him on the set), but the producers loved the character, and Kesy has been made a regular.

Janine Sherman Barrois is executive producer/showrunner on the pilot.

Kesy is coming off a three-year run as The Master on FX’s drama The Strain. He’s currently filming Eli Roth’s Deathwish for MGM opposite Bruce Willis, Vincent D’Onofrio, and Beau Knapp, and recently wrapped Baywatch for Paramount opposite Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron. Kesy is repped by Luber Roklin, Paradigm Agency and Bloom Hergott Diemer.
