CBS has given a script commitment plus penalty to Incognito, an action-driven legal procedural from writer Rashad Raisani and producers Will Packer and Adam Rifkin. Universal TV, where both Raisani and Packer’s Will Packer Prods. are under overall deals, is the studio.
Written by Raisani, Incognito is based on the Swedish series Inkognito. It centers on a crusading U.S. Attorney who leads a skilled team of misfits into life and death situations to find critical evidence the prosecution needs to even the playing field with the corrupt and the mighty.
Raisani executive produces with Packer, Korin D. Huggins, Head of Television for Will Packer Productions, as well as Arnold Rifkin through his Cheyenne Enterprises.
The original series, Inkognito, aired on Sweden’s TV4 in 2013. It was produced by Tre Vänner, now part of SF Studios, as a co-production with TV4. (you can watch a trailer below without subtitles) The rights to the original are owned by Johan Hedman at Tre Vänner.
Scandinavia has been a hotbed for drama formats with shows like The Killing, The Bridge and Borgen. Fellow Swedish series Real Humans was adapted by AMC as Humans.
For Will Packer Prods, Incognito joins comedy Big of Me at NBC, a collaboration with writer Lauren Iungerich and Eva Longoria’s UnbeliEVAble Entertainment.
Raisani recently served as an executive producer on NBC’s Russian spy drama Allegiance. He began his career as a staff writer on USA’s long-running drama series Burn Notice. He spent seven seasons on the show, rising through the ranks to co-executive producer. He also did a stint as an executive story editor on USA’s White Collar.
Raisani is repped by UTA and The Shuman Co. Packer is repped by CAA and Ziffren Brittenham. Rifkin is repped by ICM Partners and Law Offices of Matt Saver.
