Betty White, who guest-starred as Dr. Beth Mayer last season on Fox’s Bones will reprise her role in the tenth episode in the 12th and final season, set to premiere in January.

White’s Dr. Mayer, is accomplished, sharp as a tack and absolutely fabulous. With a half century of work under her belt, Dr. Mayer is without a doubt the world’s most experienced forensic anthropologist.

The series’ final chapter will bring the storylines of Brennan (Emily Deschanel), Booth (David Boreanaz) and the Jeffersonian-FBI team to a close. In addition to White, it will feature “the return of fan-favorite guest stars and squinterns, as well as an old flame from one of the team’s past.” There also will be a wedding, “an epic serial killer storyline,” a lumberjack competition, and Booth and Brennan’s marriage will be put to the test.

With a career that has spanned more than 70 years, the seven-time Emmy-winning White recently wrapped the sixth and final season of Hot in Cleveland. which earned her an Emmy nom for her role as the snarky but lovable caretaker Elka. Her seventh Emmy award came in 2010 for Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for hosting Saturday Night Live, an episode that was one of the highest-rated in the show’s history. Her most recent guest-starring roles include Crowded and SpongeBob Square Pants.
