EXCLUSIVE: Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, creator and co-executive producer of MTV’s new series Sweet/Vicious which will premiere in November, has just been set to adapt the funny and irreverent book Hold My Gold: A White Girl’s Guide to the Hip-Hop World.
The book, authored by Albertina Rizzo and Amanda McCall, will be turned into a film about a modern-day Pygmalion set in the hip-hop music industry and follows a hotshot A&R who falls from grace and makes a bet with the head of his label that he can make anyone into a star. The book itself is basically a Dummies Guide to the Hip-Hop scene.
Gold Circle is set to produce and finance the film once the script is finalized. Robinson, who brought the project into the company, will also executive produce. She is repped by CAA, Gotham Group and attorney Ryan Goodell.

Great, more white people doing black things….
Or you know stupid people doing (and saying) stupid things that are inherently racist but will claim aren’t. Such ignorance
If you mean doing a skewed, oblivious idea of what black things are, only lacking the subtle nuances or education about the complexities of being black, then I agree.
This would have been awesome in 1998.
This premise sounds very problematic.
Gold Circle should merge with Cirlce of Confusion = GOLD CIRCLE OF CONFUSION!
Oh, yeah, and also, what’s with all these women doing guy things? So irritating.
Step 1: Cast Amy Schumer & Lena Dunham.
Step 2: $$$$$$$$$$$$
Step 3: Leave country before race war starts.
You’ve got step 2 backwards,
sigh!
Bwahahahaaaaaaa! Stop the madness.
Probably getting a woman of color to write this would’ve been a smart move
