The HBO series inspired by the 1973 Michael Crichton movie will ride into the Javits Center for New York Comic-Con at 3:30 PM Sunday, October 9, at the Hammerstein Ballroom. Westworld skipped San Diego Comic-Con, but to jibe with its October 2 premiere date, always had a stop planned at the NYC event.

HBO will screen the second episode, followed by a panel discussion with showrunners Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, along with cast members Thandie Newton, Jeffrey Wright and Jimmi Simpson. More cast will be announced.

Westworld centers on a Western-themed amusement park for the wealthy, who romance and kill life-like androids while the park’s creators monitor the action, tweaking its robotic bugs. But then the robots begin to have a great degree of emotional recall. Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris, James Marsden, Evan Rachel Wood and Rodrigo Santoro also lead a huge ensemble cast. HBO unveiled an alternate poster today.
