The first full trailer for Fifty Shades Darker arrives tomorrow, and here is an ad for that ad. Universal Pictures has debuted a 20-second promo for the sequel to Fifty Shades of Grey, which printed up 50 shades of green for the studio last year: $571M worldwide. The continuing saga of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele (Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson) finds the billionaire trying to win back his quarry, but she demands a new arrangement before she will give him another shot. As they begin to build trust and find stability, shadowy figures from Christian’s past start to circle the couple, determined to destroy their hopes for a future together.

Returnees from the first film based on E L James’ mega-selling book series include Marcia Gay Harden, Jennifer Ehle, Luke Grimes, Rita Ora, Victor Rasuk, Eloise Mumford and Max Martini. They’re joined by franchise newbies Kim Basinger, Hugh Dancy, Bella Heathcote and Eric Johnson. James Foley slides into the director’s chair for the second go-round, taking over for Sam Taylor-Johnson, and Niall Leonard wrote the screenplay. Universal opens Fifty Shades Darker on February 10, ahead of Valentine’s Day — because nothing says “I love you” like watching these characters do their dance. Check out the teaser while you quiver with anticipation for the full trailer.
