Emmy-winning writer-producer D.V. DeVincentis (The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story) has signed an exclusive overall television production deal with FX Productions. Under the pact, DeVincentis will develop, write and produce television projects exclusively for all TV services and platforms. The agreement does not include his film projects.
DeVincentis won producing and writing Emmys for FX’s People v. O.J. Simpson last week. The critically acclaimed show received 22 Emmy nominations, winning nine trophies, including Outstanding Limited Series, Sarah Paulson for Lead Actress, Courtney B. Vance for Lead Actor, Sterling K. Brown for Supporting Actor and DeVincentis for Outstanding Writing for a Limited Series or a Movie.
“We had a great experience working with D.V. on The People v. O.J. Simpson,” said Nick Grad, president of original programming (with Eric Schrier) at FX Networks and FX Productions. “His ‘Marcia Marcia Marcia’ episode of O.J. was one of the most memorable episodes of television this year. He’s an exceptionally talented writer-producer and will be a great partner with FXP.”
DeVincentis said, “FX’s mission is to make content rooted in ideas and culture as much as entertainment, and I’m flattered and gratified that they would see me as a partner in that light.”
UTA, Management 360 and Morris Yorn negotiated the deal on behalf of DeVincentis.
