Pic tells the true story of the national cycling team of Rwanda and the fallen American cyclist Jonathan “Jock” Boyer who struggled to build a competitive team from survivors from both sides of the Rwandan genocide. T.C. Johnstone directed the docu and will make his narrative directing debut on the feature. Greg Kwedar produced the docu, and he and Johnstone will be exec producers on the feature along with Jon Halbert and Linda Halbert. Clément Miserez and Jean-Charles Levy are producing, and Boyer and team members are working with the feature film’s creative team. Several of the subjects are competing in the upcoming Rio Olympics.
Pisani wrote and was exec producer of Unexpected Justice: The Rise of John Paul Stevens for PBS, and he is also creator of the sci-fi Dark Horse Comics book Colonus and recently published his first novel, AMP’D through St. Martin’s Press.
