Sony Pictures Entertainment has moved to boost its communication staff, adding Tahra Grant as VP Corporate Communications, reporting to chief communications officer Robert Lawson. The two are hardly strangers: Grant worked with Lawson when both were at the Rubenstein communications company in New York.

Grant has been familiar to film reporters and editors through her representation of Tribeca Enterprises and the Tribeca Film Festival. She has also worked with The Orchard, and with the Hunger Games films and The Girlfriend Experience TV series, among others. Rubenstein did some of the heaviest crisis communications work for Sony Pictures when its internal systems were hacked in 2014. Lawson subsequently joined the Sony staff, and now brings Grant behind him.

Grant will be based at Sony’s Culver City lot, and will join Jean Guerin, another of the studio’s top communications executives, on film-related work, a Sony executive said on Tuesday.
