Seeso, the ad-free streaming channel from NBCUniversal’s Digital Enterprises, has renewed three of its series. The channel said today that it has ordered new seasons of , The Cyanide & Happiness Show and Big Jay Oakerson’s What’s Your F@%ing Deal?!
Seeso ordered an eight-episode Season 2 of Hidden America, the half-hour “Bourdain-esque” fake travel show featuring comedians Jonah Ray, who travels to major U.S. cities with some big names in comedy. The series from Dakota Pictures is executive produced by Ray, Troy Miller, Alex Murray and Todd Sellers.
Created by and EP’d Kris Wilson, Rob DenBleyker, and Dave McElfatrick of ExplosmEntertainment, The Cyanide & Happiness Show is a 15-minute series based on the popular web comic. Among the segments: God takes hostages, spring breakers are locked in a life-and-death struggle against a mighty Dicksquid and the patriotic Star Spangled Bastard solving the immigration and gun-control problem. The series exec produced by Studio71 got a 10-episode Season 3 order.
Also getting a 10-ep order is the second season of Big Jay Oakerson’s What’s Your F@%ing Deal?! The half-hour series from Angry Buddha Films sees the host leading a pack of stand-up comics in a completely improvised show based on interactions with the crowd. It’s executive produced by Oakerson, Cris Italia, David Kimowitz, Frank Mosca and Lou Wallach.
