EXCLUSIVE: Entertainment One has named industry vet Carolyn Newman to the newly created role of VP Scripted Programming, eOne Television. In her new position, Newman will focus on the development of scripted TV projects as eOne continues to broaden that business in the U.S. and around the world and will work with eOne’s global scripted development and production teams worldwide. Based in Los Angeles, she reports to Pancho Mansfield, President of Global Scripted Programming at eOne Television.

“Carolyn has great taste and strong instincts in developing television properties, and we are thrilled to welcome her to eOne Television,” Mansfield said. “Carolyn’s expertise, far-reaching relationships, and passion for standout TV will support the continued growth of our dynamic slate.”

Newman joins eOne from Amazon Studios, most recently serving as the point executive on such series as Bosch, Hand of God, Mad Dogs and the upcoming Good Girls Revolt. Newman also was actively involved in sourcing and securing international television projects for Amazon Studios. Prior to Amazon Studios, Newman was VP Development and Production for Sphere Media, where she oversaw development and executive produced critically acclaimed series 19-2 for Bell Media in Canada.

EOne Television is developing and producing a raft of new series for the U.S. and global marketplace including  Sharp Objects (HBO), starring Amy Adams, as well as current productions Ransom (CBS/TF1/CORUS/RTL), executive produced by Frank Spotnitz; Foreign Bodies (E4/TNT); You Me Her (DirecTV); and the recently announced Ice with partner Antoine Fuqua’s Fuqua Films (DirecTV).
