Warner Bros. has hired its Edge Of Tomorrow director Doug Liman to helm the DC title Justice League Dark, and producer Scott Rudin, after Guillermo del Toro dropped off to pursue his many other projects. Del Toro is hard at work on Fox Searchlight’s Cold War drama which he wrote, is directing and produced that stars Sally Hawkins and Octavia Spencer. He also has Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark at CBS Films, which is an adaptation of Alvin Schwartz’s popular children’s book trilogy and Amazon recently picked up his Carnival Row pilot.
The studio had been developing the project for del Toro. Michael Gilio is penning the script now.
Liman, whose credits also include The Bourne Identity, also has a project at Amazon called The Wall. Justice League Dark will now be developed with Liman.
Deadline’s sister publication Variety broke the news today.
