Britney Spears will ride along with James Corden for some “Carpool Karaoke,” CBS confirmed this morning during the network’s executive session at TCA. The pop star is set for The Late Late Show segment on Thursday, August 25, a day before her ninth studio album Glory is released via RCA Records.
Grammy winner Spears has sold nearly 100 million records worldwide. She has had six No. 1-debuting albums on the Billboard 200 chart and 24 top 40 hit singles on the Billboard Hot 100 — five of which went to No. 1. She has been nominated for eight Grammy Awards and won Best Dance Recording for “Toxic” in 2005.
Corden’s Late Late Show holds the YouTube record for the most-watched late-night clip with “Adele Carpool Karaoke,” which has 121 million views. The show’s YouTube Channel has amassed more than 1.5 billion total views and nearly 7 million subscribers since the show’s premiere on March 23, 2015.
Other news announced during today’s session: CBS confirmed that the original investigators in the unsolved JonBenét Ramsey murder case will reunite for the network’s previously announced six-hour limited event docuseries The Case Of: JonBenét Ramsey. The series, from Emmy-winning executive producer Tom Forman and Critical Content, will premiere at 8:30 PM Sunday, September 18. It continues at 9 PM Monday, September 19, and concludes Sunday, September 25 (8:30-10:30 PM, ET/PT), on CBS.
The original investigators include former New York City prosecutor, retired FBI supervisory special agent and profiler Jim Clemente; world-renowned forensic scientist Dr. Henry Lee; former chief investigator for the District Attorney in Boulder, Colo., James Kolar; leading forensic pathologist Dr. Werner Spitz; and retired FBI supervisory special agent and forensic linguistic profiler James Fitzgerald. New experts reviewing the case include former New Scotland Yard criminal behavioral analyst Laura Richards and retired FBI supervisory special agent and statement analyst Stan Burke.
The scope of the team’s investigation includes re-examining crucial evidence using advanced technology and forensics, recreating the crime scene by rebuilding full-scale replicas of key rooms from the Ramsey house, conducting extensive interviews and introducing new theories.
The Case Of: JonBenét Ramsey is produced by Critical Content. Forman and Eddie Schmidt serve as executive producers.
