Tony Danza has been tapped to join the one-off solo performance lineup for White Rabbit Red Rabbit, the experimental play from Iranian writer Nassim Soleimanpour that sees a different performer each night who is handed the script for the first time as they step onto the stage. The play had its New York premiere March 7 at the Westside Theatre where it plays each Monday night.

Danza’s show is August 8 and he joins a killer roster of performers that kicked off with Nathan Lane, including Whoopi Goldberg, Brian Dennehy, Martin Short, Bobby Cannavale, David Hyde Pierce, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Alan Cumming and George Takei. Up next: Josh Radnor (July 25), Ramin Karimloo (August 1), Michael Urie (August 22) and Darren Criss (August 29).

A portion of the play’s profits go to PEN International, and it is produced by Devlin Elliott and Tom Kirdahy of Maberry Theatricals in association with Aurora Nova Productions and Boat Rocker Entertainment.

Danza most recently hit the stage starring in the Broadway musical comedy Honeymoon In Vegas.
