Grey’s Anatomy alum T.R. Knight is returning to the Shondaland fold. Knight has joined the second-season cast of ABC’s The Catch, from Shonda Rhimes’ Shondaland, as a recurring. As-per-usual, there are no details about his character.
Executive produced by Rhimes, Betsy Beers and showrunner Allan Heinberg, The Catch centers on Alice Vaughan (Mireille Enos), a private investigator for high-end clients.
“Shonda, Betsy and I are beyond excited to have T.R. back in the Shondaland family — and on The Catch in a role the was created and written especially for him,” said Heinberg.
“This has been a thrilling secret to keep!,” added Rhimes. “One of my favorite family members is home!”
“Working with Shonda, Betsy, and Allan again fills me with immense joy,” said Knight. “I am heartened to be returning to Shondaland and excited to work with this exceptional cast!”
Knight is best known for his role as George O’Malley on Shondaland’s Grey’s Anatomy. He was an original cast member on the ABC/ABC Studios medical drama, co-starring for the first five seasons and receiving an Emmy nomination.
He recently wrapped the ABC series When We Rise, and can currently be seen as Johnny Clayton in the Stephen King and J.J. Abrams series 11.22.63. Knight also recently appeared on Broadway alongside Matthew Broderick and Nathan Lane in It’s Only A Play.
He is repped by Gersh and Thruline Entertainment.
