Paramount Pictures, Skydance and Bad Robot are reteaming for a fourth installment of their Star Trek movie franchise, with Chris Pine returning and the rest of the cast of the rebooted pics also expected to return. The news comes as the third film, Star Trek Beyond, hits theaters Friday.

The plot for the new pic: Pine’s Captain Kirk will cross paths with a man he never had a chance to meet but whose legacy has haunted him since the day he was born: his father. Chris Hemsworth, who appeared in the 2009 reboot Star Trek, will return to play George Kirk.

J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay will write the screenplay. J.J. Abrams and Lindsey Weber will produce through Bad Robot. David Ellison and Dana Goldberg of Skydance will executive produce.

No release date or director is set for the next film. Justin Lin is helming Star Trek Beyond, which was penned by Doug Jung and Simon Pegg.
