Saturday Night Live’s Weekend Update anchors Colin Jost and Michael Che caught up on the RNC through the first three nights, except it aired on MSNBC so…..

Jost noted Ben Carson had linked Hillary Clinton to Lucifer on RNC Day 2, except Lucifer now says he’s not familiar with a Hillary Clinton, but knows a guy named Bill, who never mentioned he had a wife.

The SNL-ers spoke about an hour after Ted Cruz got booed off stage on RNC Day 3 after refusing to endorse Donald Trump during his speech, rather telling delegates, “Vote your conscience.”

“That’s where we’re at now – people booing the idea of listening your conscience!” Jost marveled. “It’s like if Jiminy Cricket showed up and was like, ‘Always let your conscience be your guide’ and everyone in the crowd was like, ‘A cricket – Kill it!’ ”

Of Chris Christie’s RNC Day 2 speech, in which he staged a mock trail of presumptive Dem nominee Hillary Clinton, they said, “I don’t know if people pointed this out, but Christie actually plagiarized part of his speech from the Salem Witch Trials.” [Answer: Yes, many, many people, before Weekend Update, had made Salem Witch Trial cracks about Christie’s speech.]

Fellow SNL-er Kate McKinnon stopped by, playing Trump’s least fave Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who noted Trump had been messing with the wrong  “15-pound, 200-year-old marionette doll.”
