Word of disturbing similarities between Melania Trump’s keynote speech at tonight’s RNC, and a speech First lady Michelle Obama gave at the 2008 Democratic convention swept TV news tonight.

MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell insisted “There is no university in America that would not rule this as plagiarism.”

Donald Trump’s campaign called it “fragments that reflected her own thinking” as in: “Melania’s team of writers took notes on her life’s inspirations, and in some instances included fragments that reflected her own thinking,” adding that her “immigrant experience and love  for America shone through in her speech, which made it such a success.”

MSNBC’s Brian Williams forecast it would “likely be a thing” by morning. If, by “thing” Williams meant top trending on Twitter worldwide, in the form of #FamousMelaniaTrumpQuotes, he was correct.
