After more than a decade at ABC Studios, writer-producer Jenna Bans is moving to Universal Television with a new two-year overall deal.
“Jenna Bans was one of the most sought-after writer-producers this development season because of her proven talent,” said Universal Television President Pearlena Igbokwe. “We are thrilled that she chose to set up shop at Universal TV and look forward to a fruitful collaboration with Jenna.”
Bans most recently created and executive produced the critically praised drama series The Family starring Joan Allen for ABC. She previous served as co-executive producer on ABC’s Scandal and Grey’s Anatomy and also worked on Desperate Housewives and Private Practice.
Bans joins her husband Justin Spitzer at Universal TV, where he also is under an overall deal. He created and is showrunning NBC’s comedy hit Superstore under that pact.
Bans is repped by UTA and Morris Yorn.
