David Dastmalchian and Hiam Abbass have joined Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, Robin Wright in the untitled sequel to Blade Runner. As per usual with the project’s casting announcements, there are no details on their roles. Denis Villeneuve is directing the Alcon Entertainment pic, whose story picks up several decades after the conclusion of Ridley Scott’s 1982 original. Dastmalchian’s recent credits include Ant-Man and The Dark Knight TV’s 12 Monkeys and CSI: Cyber. He next appears in Netflix’s Twin Peaks series and feature The Belko Experiment. Abbass has appeared in such recent films as Exodus: Gods and Kings and Rock the Casbah and Channel 4 miniseries The Promise.

Willem Dafoe has booked a role in The Florida Experiment, writer-director Sean Baker’s follow-up to Tangerine. The pic centers on a precocious 6-year-old and her ragtag group of close friends whose summer break is filled with childhood wonder, possibility and a sense of adventure, while their parents and the adults around them struggle with hard times.‎ No details on Dafoe’s role in the film, which is shooting in Orlando. The two-time Oscar nominee’s recent credits include John Wick, The Fault in Our Stars and The Grand Budapest Hotel. He also has a voice role in Finding Dory. Dafoe’s upcoming films include Justice League, The Headhunter’s Calling and What Happened to Monday?
