Busy Bella Thorne is set to reunite with her Midnight Sun helmer Scott Speer as the lead in Break My Heart 1,000 Times. Wonder Woman scribe Jason Fuchs will pen the adaptation of Daniel Waters’ YA novel for Gold Circle Films.

Described as The Fault in Our Stars meets The Sixth Sense, the pic is set after a cataclysmic event has torn the barrier between our world and the next, leaving Remnants — ghostlike essences of the deceased — part of everyday life. After years of quiet coexistence with the living, a Remnant sends a threatening message to a young girl, propelling her on a mission that will forever change the course of her life.

Break My Heart 1,000 Times will be produced by Paul Brooks, with Scott Niemeyer, Brad Kessell and Fuchs executive producing. Good Universe is handling international sales.

Thorne recently wrapped the lead role in Speer’s Midnight Sun and has a slew of other projects in the works, including The Babysitter, Boo! A Madea Halloween and the Freeform drama Famous in Love, which was picked up to series in April.

She is repped by CAA and Thor Bradwell at Thirty Three Management. Speer is with WME and Principato Young Management. Fuchs is repped by WME, Brookside Artist Management, and Bloom Hergott.
