Faking a leg injury mid-way through his monologue on tonight’s episode of The Tonight Show, Jimmy Fallon mimed that he was unable to go on, but, saying that it’s The Tonight Show and it can’t stop, he asked if someone was willing to tag in for him. Cue former The Tonight Show host Jay Leno, who walked onstage to big cheers and delivered a monologue of his own full of the signature blend of dad jokes and snark he brought into homes during his 20-year stint hosting the show. Keeping things topical he spent plenty of time laying into the presumptive Democratic and Republican nominees for President, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.

“Hillary says that she is the most transparent candidate in modern history… how many can see right through her?”, said Leno before a joke about Bill Clinton’s womanizing ways. This was followed by jokes about Donald Trump’s recent controversial comments. “I’ve been enjoying Donald Trump’s new reality show, The Amazing Racist,” Leno said, adding that Trump has refused to back down from comments he’s made about Judge Gonzalo Curiel, and that now he is “threatening to have the judge deported… back to Indiana.”
