Cop: “Ninety-nine out of a hundred times, kid goes missing he’s with a parent or relative.” Mom: “What about the other time?” Cop: “Maybe Will saw something that he shouldn’t have.” Things are getting weird in the sleepy small town of Hawkins, IN.

Here’s the first trailer for Stranger Things, Netflix’s original supernatural period drama that’s described as “a love letter to the ’80s classics that captivated a generation.” Young boy (Noah Schnapp) vanishes. His mom (Winona Rider), friends and local police search for answers. What they find draws them into an mystery involving top-secret experiments, terrifying supernatural forces and one very strange little girl.

Matthew Modine, David Harbour, Charlie Heaton, Natalia Dyer, Millie Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Caleb McLaughlin. Gaten Matarazzo and Cara Buono also star in the eight-episode series that starts streaming July 15.

Written and directed by young genre filmmakers Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer (Wayward Pines), it’s executive produced by Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen. Check out the trailer and tell us what you think.
