Cinemax has slotted Friday, September 9 for the premiere of Quarry, the eight-episode drama series starring Logan Marshall-Green based on the crime novels written by Road To Perdition co-creator Max Allan Collins first published in 1976.
Created, written and executive produced by Graham Gordy and Michael D. Fuller, Quarry tells the story of Mac Conway (Marshall-Green), a Marine who returns home to Memphis from Vietnam in 1972 and finds himself shunned by those he loves and demonized by the public. As he struggles to cope with his experiences at war, Conway is drawn into a network of killing and corruption that spans the length of the Mississippi River.
Also starring are Jodi Balfour as Joni, Peter Mullan as The Broker, Nikki Amuka-Bird as Ruth, and Damon Herriman as Buddy, along with Jamie Hector as Arthur, Edoardo Ballerini as Karl, and Skipp Sudduth as Lloyd.
Greg Yaitanes directs and executive produces, along with exec producer Steve Golin. HBO Entertainment produces in association with Anonymous Content. The series is also executive produced by Matt DeRoss, David Kanter, Max Allan Collins and Ken Levin. Additional writers on the series include Jennifer Schuur and Collins; the latter wrote the books on which Quarry is based.
