Momentum Pictures will be releasing JT Mollner’s bloody western Outlaws and Angels in theaters and on VOD on July 15. The pic premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and stars Francesca Eastwood, Chad Michael Murray and Luke Wilson. Outlaws and Angels depicts what happens when bank robbers on the run pull a home invasion on an unsuspecting frontier family, intending to hide out in their house for the night. A game of cat and mouse ensues, along with seduction, role reversals and revenge. In addition Momentum unveiled the pic’s key art today as well. Check out the two minute clip below that was released during Sundance.
Gravitas Ventures has acquired U.S. rights to Kevin Kaufman’s sophomore directorial family-friendly caper Ace the Case: Manhattan Mystery starring Susan Sarandon, Ripley Sobo (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Steve Jobs), and Lev Gorn (The Americans). Pic opens in select theaters and via on-demand on Aug. 26. Left in the care of her teenage brother Miles (Aaron Sauter, Alien Dawn) while their mom is away, 10-year-old Olivia Haden (Sobo) takes her dog Charlie for a late-night walk and witnesses a brazen kidnapping on the deserted streets of New York City. The only person who is sympathetic to Olivia’s story is a detective named Dottie (Sarandon). Without solid evidence, there’s nothing Dottie can do, so Olivia takes the case into her own hands. Kaufman also produced and wrote Ace the Case. Greg Giangrande, Doug Biro, Anthony Burke, Trey Duncan, Douglas Falconer, Roy Poretzky and Rick Tirelli served as EPs. The deal was negotiated by Dan Fisher for Gravitas and Biro and Kaufman for Kaufman Films.
